During the
PS2004 Meeting conclusion session, Percepnet promised that a special
effort will be made to extend the atmosphere of transdisciplinary communication
enjoyed between participants in the second edition of this symposium. The post
congressual effort announced has crystallized in a knowledge space, a content
platform in which all sessions and the discussions generated may find their own
place.
Spontaneity,
not free from rigor and good coordination, characterized the marathonian
sessions of the meeting and can also be perceived in the contents being
incorporated to the PS2004 platform. This is due to the fact that all lectures
and discussions have been retrieved from audio documents and allows us to
escape from the rigid constraints of written presentations and feel transported
to the sensory records of this meeting. Joël Candau will probably encourage us
to do so.
This
platform gathers also the practical presentations orphan from the sensory
palette that offered the products tasted inspirer of their conductor’s words.
However, we can find there, for the record, their observations, sources of
evocations but also of highly valuable information coming by some of the best
experts in those matters.
A fluid
communication among scientific and professional communities requires an
interaction effort in both directions. Thus, Percepnet takes the
initiative opening this door to the dialog, and hoping to get a feedback: as
contributions to discussions, like we already suggested before the Meeting; as
participations in the forum capable of a measured and constructive provocation;
as collaborations or discussions; as information provided by professional parts
interested in the subjects displayed, or simply as requirements for further information,
which can drive though our way to PS2006, and even shift the initial subject
cores.
This interactive platform offers, finally, all
PS2004 conference materials, unpublished information on the subjects discussed.

The platform contains all conferences presented
in both working days of PS2004 meeting: the «Percepnet Symposium on Sensory Sciences and Perception» (June 17th)
and the «ACCA Conference on Sensory Sciences in Food Sciences» (June 18th).

Contents are displayed according to the different sessions celebrated and all
abstracts are accompanied by the transcription of an audio document recorded
during the presentations, as well as the graphics provided by authors. The
discussions generated close each subject area.
This interactivity, highly recommended by Percepnet,
is enhanced by a textual window in which the visitor may write a comment to be
added to the participation list. We hope this may be the beginning of a
profitable communication forum.
